The number of medics in Ukraine who contracted coronavirus has increased to 978; 332 children were also infected, such figures were given by the Minister of Health of Ukraine Maksim Stepanov.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, 5106 cases of COVID-19 infection were registered in Ukraine, 133 of which became fatal, 275 patients recovered.
“In total, 332 children and 978 medical workers have fallen ill during the whole period of pandemics in Ukraine,” Stepanov said at a briefing in Kyiv.
On 11 March, the World Health Organization declared the outbreak of a new coronavirus infection COVID-19 a pandemic. According to the latest WHO data, there are almost 2.1 million cases of infection worldwide and nearly 140,000 people have died.
