The MFA estimated the Trump’s decision to fund the WHO

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the decision of United States leader Donald Trump to suspend funding for the World Health Organization (WHO) is counterproductive and irresponsible.

On April 14, the U.S. president announced that Washington was suspending funding for WHO, which, in his opinion, did not provide timely data about the coronavirus, as well as did not bring the truth to the world public.

“We consider counterproductive and, to put it mildly, irresponsible Washington’s decisions to suspend payments to the World Health Organization, as well as the country’s attempts to blame the World Health Organization for what is happening at home, in the U.S., and to expose it as an extreme in a growing pandemic”, –   Zakharova said.

The diplomat is sure that the U.S. accusations against WHO “are completely groundless, not transparent, especially in malice.

Zakharova added that at all stages of the pandemic, WHO acted within its mandate, namely in strict accordance with the guidelines of Member States and based on scientific evidence.
