The American military presence in the Persian Gulf is a threat to Iran’s security.
Tehran reminded Washington that it was not Iran that deployed troops near U.S. borders.
Such a statement was made by Islamic Republic of Iran Defence Minister Amir Khatami on Friday, April 17, commenting on the incident when warships of the two countries approached each other.
Earlier, the press service of the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet accused the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps that its boats were performing dangerous maneuvers near U.S. warships in the Persian Gulf.
Amir Khatami, in turn, recalled that this is not the Iranian fleet is now off the American coast.
“The United States came to the Iranian borders from another part of the world”, – said the Minister. – “The illegal presence of the United States is a security threat in the Persian Gulf”.
