Moldovan authorities are ready to fulfill the obligations of the Association Agreement with the European Union. This was announced on the eve of the Speaker of the Parliament Zinaida Grechany and Prime Minister Ion Kiku at a meeting with the head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Peter Mikhalko.
According to the report, they discussed the situation in Moldova caused by the pandemic, as well as actions to mitigate its consequences for society and the economy. Kiku and Grechany informed the interlocutor about the development of amendments to the Law on the state budget aimed at implementing anti-crisis measures, as well as about the possibility of convening a plenary meeting of the parliament for their adoption.
The parties exchanged views on the investigation of bank fraud, the moratorium on granting Moldovan citizenship for investments, the evolution regarding the adoption of the Law on Non-Profit Organizations and the Law on the Procedure for Identifying Violations in the Field of Prevention of Money Laundering, Financing of Terrorism and the Method of Sanctions.
They also discussed the course of judicial reform, bringing legislative norms in line with the recommendations of the Venice Commission on the law on the Higher Council of Magistracy.
