Biden said he wouldn’t appoint the vice president of the governor of New York

The former vice president of the United States believes it’s important that this position be taken by a woman.

Former U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden, who seeks nomination from the Democratic Party in the presidential election, does not intend to appoint New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo to the post of Vice President, if elected. This statement was made by Biden on CNN on Thursday night.

He was asked whether he would be prepared to reconsider his intention to appoint a woman to the post of Vice-President and to choose a politician who had “proved himself in the context of a pandemic, such as the Governor of New York State Cuomo”.

“I think that Governor Cuomo could be the president himself, he is a wonderful man”, –  Biden said. – “But I also think it’s important that [the vice president] is a woman.”

Biden stressed that he intends to ensure that the distribution of positions in his administration “reflects the situation in America.

“I think it really does matter,” he stressed. – There are many highly qualified women who have the knowledge and experience to be president immediately. And I continue to hold that position.

Last Saturday, the governor of New York said he was not going to run for president or vice president of the United States. “I have no political agenda. I’m not running for president. I’m not running for the vice president,” he stressed, noting that he intends to focus on combating the proliferation of the new coronavirus.

Earlier Biden repeatedly said that he intends to appoint a woman to the post of vice-president in case of winning the elections, which will be held on November 3 this year. “Right now there are a few women who are ready to be president tomorrow. I will choose a woman to be my vice president,” said Biden, who served as vice president in the administration of former U.S. President Barack Obama (2009-2017).
