During a videoconference on Wednesday, NATO defense ministers noted the importance of countering misinformation in the face of a new type of coronavirus pandemic. This was stated in a message circulated by the Pentagon.
The meeting was attended by the head of the American military department, Mark Esper.
“The Ministers paid special attention to maintaining the ability of the alliance to deter and protect in the conditions of collective struggle against the coronavirus. The sides reaffirmed their readiness and commitment to continue the operations”, – the text reads. – “The Ministers stressed the importance of countering the disinfection of state and, non-state players who use the pandemic to spread false and harmful information.”
