Obama spoke in support of Biden running for president of the United States

The former U.S. leader said the politician has all the qualities the president needs.

Former US President Barack Obama for the first time officially supported Joe Biden, who is the most likely candidate from the Democratic Party in the upcoming presidential elections. Obama’s video message was posted on his Twitter on Tuesday.

The former head of the U.S. administration noted that the next American leader should be experienced, honest, humble and able to empathize.

“That’s why I am so proud to announce my support for Joe Biden as a candidate for president of the United States”, –  Obama said. In his administration, Biden served as vice president.

Obama assured that Biden has all the qualities that the U.S. president needs. He recalled that Biden, as Vice President, was involved in the development of measures to restore the American economy after the financial crisis of 2007-2008 and to counteract the epidemic of the Ebola virus. According to Obama, Biden also has experience in preventing the proliferation of nuclear weapons.

“Barack, this support means so much to me and Jill”, –  Biden wrote back on Twitter. He stressed that he intends to “build on the progress” made by the Obama administration.

Biden, in fact, remained the only Democrat candidate for the US presidency after Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders left the election campaign on April 8. The National Congress of the Democratic Party of the USA, where Biden is expected to be named as a candidate for the highest state post in the country, is scheduled for the middle of August in Milwaukee (Wisconsin). Presidential elections in the USA are scheduled for November 3.
