Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov believes that Russia helps other countries fight the virus without harming themselves.
“The decisions taken on the allocation of appropriate funds and equipment as assistance are correlated with the needs in Russia. Of course, it is taken into account that now we have set up the production of all the necessary ventilation devices and other equipment. We are in contact with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. They’re doing it day and night”, – Lavrov said in an interview with Kommersant edition.
He added that “one wouldn’t be guided by the logic of “it’s not enough for oneself”.
“According to this logic, it is necessary to intercept humanitarian goods flying in transit through Russia, as some countries did. I do not think this adds credibility”, – the Russian Foreign Minister said.
The World Health Organization on March 11 announced an outbreak of a new coronavirus infection COVID-19 with a pandemic. According to the latest WHO data, more than 1.84 million cases of infection have been recorded in the world, more than 117 thousand people have died.
