At the same time, next week the authorities of the republic will consider the possibility of easing restrictions.

The provisional Bolivian Government decided to extend until 30 April the general quarantine imposed on 21 March due to the proliferation of the new coronavirus. This was announced on Tuesday by Acting Head of State Jeanine Agnès.

“In accordance with the recommendations of the specialists who advise me, quarantine continues until April 30,” she said in an appeal that was broadcast on the government’s social networks.

At the same time, Agnes said that next week the authorities would consider easing the restrictions. “I want to thank all Bolivians for their good observance of the quarantine,” the acting president added.

Agnès also announced new financial assistance to Bolivians who have been left without money due to quarantine, as well as measures to support small and medium businesses.

March 10, Bolivian authorities reported the first two confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in the country. To date, more than 350 people have fallen ill and 28 have died.
