Strain of coronavirus from the US is delivered to Russia to create a vaccine

A strain of the new coronavirus infection was imported from Russia to the United States; Tomsk Customs issued a declaration for it.

“As part of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection 2019-nCoV, Russian company later imported virus particles from the United States to the Moscow region to conduct research and create a vaccine”, – the department’s Press Service said.

The customs explained that the strain document was filed remotely at the Tomsk Customs Electronic Declaration Center on April 10, 2020. Viral particles moved in a 23 x 0.6 milliliter vial and weighed 88 grams. Due to the fact that a temperature of 2-8 °C is necessary for transportation and storage, the products were located in a thermocontainer filled with cold elements. Together with the container, the cargo weighed 4.5 kilograms.

“According to the legislation, one hour is allotted for registration of a declaration, and one working day following the day of registration of the declaration. But, realizing the priority of processing such goods, the inspectors of Tomsk Customs registered the declaration, checked compliance with the prohibitions and restrictions, documents based on which it is filled out, and released the goods in less than an hour. This is the second case of the declaration of viral particles at Tomsk customs. The first such declaration was issued on January 30, 2020”, – the customs service said.
