Weekend curfew to be introduced in Turkey

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the country will continue the practice of imposing curfews on weekends in connection with the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19.

“I would like to announce that curfew will be imposed on Friday evening, from April 17 at 00:00, until Sunday evening, April 19 at 00:00,” NTV quoted Erdogan as saying.

According to him, the authorities will continue to return to this practice to curb the spread of coronavirus.

On April 10, Turkish authorities imposed a 48-hour curfew in 30 cities across the country and throughout Zonguldak province.
