Gazprom began supplying gas to China through the Power of Siberia gas pipeline at a price of about $ 200 per thousand cubic meters. Information follows from the data of the General Administration of Customs of China and the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
As follows from the data of Chinese customs, in January and February, Gazprom supplied 635 million cubic meters of gas to China in the amount of $ 129.154 million. Hence, the average value of gas exported in January-February was $ 203 per thousand cubic meters.
In the future, a decrease in the current price is expected, since the contract for the supply of gas under the Power of Siberia is tied to the price of fuel oil and gas oil with a 9-month lag.
In the western direction, according to the Federal Customs Service of Russia, the price of Gazprom’s gas supplies for export (excluding Belarus) in December 2019 amounted to $ 201 per thousand cubic meters, $ 168 in January 2020 and $ 145 per thousand cubic meters in February.
