The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov said that the police fined three clergymen because of the congestion of people in churches on Palm Sunday, despite the quarantine imposed due to the coronavirus infection COVID-19.

“About yesterday’s congestion in a number of churches. Irresponsibility and disrespect for human health have nothing to do with God! In three cases, the clergy received administrative fines by the police. 12 more – materials are being studied. We have freedom of conscience, but … have a conscience! ” – he noted.

Earlier, Greek authorities opened criminal proceedings against two clergymen for conducting services in churches on Palm Sunday, despite the restrictive measures in force due to the coronavirus infection COVID-19.
