The United States intends to provide Italy with humanitarian assistance to tackle the coronavirus epidemic.
The corresponding memorandum was signed by the US President Donald Trump. The document was published by the White House Press Service.
“Despite the fact that the primary and most important task of the US leadership is to care for the Americans, Italy’s support will contribute to the fight against the outbreak of COVID-19, reduce the effects of the crisis, and at the same time show the leadership of the United States”, – the document says.
It is noteworthy that, the epidemic of coronavirus infection began in Italy on January 31. For more than two months, it has reached catastrophic proportions, but at the most difficult moment, the republic was abandoned alone with a deadly disease. Even the “partners” in the European Union refused to provide assistance to Italy. Then Russia volunteered to help. As soon as possible, military doctors, medical and nursing teams, as well as equipment for diagnosis and disinfection, were transferred to the Apennine Peninsula. Thanks to Russian support, Italy overcame the peak incidence rate.
As News Front previously reported, over the past day alone, 2,000 Italians managed to overcome the disease. Thus, the total number of recovered amounted to almost 30.5 thousand.
