Mankind is fighting a deadly virus – Polish strategists still consider Russia the main threat

In Warsaw, they decided not to rewrite the National Security Strategy for 2020, taking into account the new realities, and chose to designate Russia as the “main threat” to the country.

Mankind is fighting a deadly virus - Polish strategists still consider Russia the main threat

On Thursday, April 9, reports the publication “Rzeczpospolita”, referring to a published document.

The 33-page report on “Russian aggression” was to be presented personally by Polish President Andrzej Duda before the elections that will be held on May 10, despite the epidemic of coronavirus.

“The strategy defines a comprehensive vision of the formation of the national security of the Republic of Poland in all its dimensions,” the annotation says.

According to the authors of the strategy, “the most serious threat is the neo-imperial policy of the authorities of the Russian Federation, also carried out using military force.” At the same time, they argue that “strategic ties between the United States of America and European allies are developing,” and in the European Union itself “there are different concepts of its further development.”

It is noteworthy that the document was made public at the moment when the US authorities stopped communicating with the European Union, and the EU itself was scandalized by leaving Italy alone with the coronavirus. The fact is that the provisions of the Polish National Security Strategy 2020 were prescribed before the COVID-19 pandemic swept the world. The authors chose not to rewrite the text, although their works have already lost all relevance.
