Trump wished Johnson a full recovery

All Americans are praying for him, the President of the United States said.

U.S. President Donald Trump, on behalf of the Americans, wished a speedy recovery to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who was hospitalized for tests in connection with infection with coronavirus. The head of the White House made a statement to that effect at a briefing for journalists on Sunday.

Boris Johnson has been hospitalized

“I would like to express my country’s good wishes to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who is fighting the virus personally. All Americans are praying for him. He is my friend and a great man, a great leader,” he said.

“I hope, and I’m sure, he’ll be fine. He is a strong man, a strong personality,” Trump added.

At the same time, the U.S. chief of staff specified that he has not personally talked to the head of the British government after his hospitalization or immediately before it. “I haven’t spoken to him, no. I got a call from the ambassador,” Trump said. Apparently, he meant the American Ambassador to London, Woody Johnson. “Hospitalization is not a joke,” said the president. “I just hope that everything is all right with him,” Trump concluded.
