The second Il-76 flew from Russia to Serbia with the military and equipment for combating coronavirus, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
“The second Il-76 aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Military Space Forces with Russian military specialists and equipment on board flew from the Chkalovsky airfield (Moscow region) to the Republic of Serbia”, – the statement said.
It is noted that the IL-76 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces will deliver to the Bataynitsa airfield (20 kilometers northwest of Belgrade) Russian military doctors, specialists in the field of virology and epidemiology with modern equipment for epidemiological diagnostics and disinfection measures.
On the behalf of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Federation Armed Forces, President Vladimir Putin, instructions were given to create an air group to expeditiously deliver assistance to Serbia in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection. For the transfer of personnel and equipment, it is planned to carry out 11 flights, which will be delivered by 87 military personnel, including military physicians, specialist virologists of the Russian Chelyabinsk Refinery, special medical equipment, protective equipment and 16 units of military equipment.
