Five more countries joined the EU sanctions against Turkey: Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Iceland and Armenia.
The reason for the dissatisfaction is that Turkey carries out drilling operations in the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of the Republic of Cyprus.
This was announced by the head of the EU diplomacy, Joseph Borrell.
“Candidate countries (for EU accession), the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania, which is part of the European Economic Area of Iceland, as well as Armenia, join this decision of the Council. They will ensure that their national policies are consistent with the decision of the Council. The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it, ”he said.
