The vice-mayor of the Italian settlement of Chen in the province of Lombardy thanked the Russian military for their help in the fight against coronavirus and for solidarity in difficult times, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
“Marchela Badzana, Vice-Mayor of the Chen settlement in the province of Lombardy, thanked Russian military specialists for their assistance in the fight against coronavirus”, – the ministry said on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Defense brought excerpts from a letter in which the Italian official expressed gratitude from the residents of Chen for solidarity during difficult times and the assistance provided.
“In these difficult times, not only for our country but also for the whole world, mutual assistance makes us more united and stronger. There are no barriers or borders, we all fight together here against an invisible evil that frightens us and because of which many people have lost the love of their loved ones. We can only win this battle by helping each other”, – Badzana writes.
She noted that the arrival of the Russian military gave more hope to the people of Italy.
“We believe that there is no better word than Thank You to express our gratitude. Thank you for everything, thank you for your help, thank you for being with us. You have left your country and your families to be with us, and we are deeply touched by this”, – the letter says.
The day before, a team of doctors of epidemiologists and specialists of the Radiation Chemical and Biological Defense Forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense, together with Italian military specialists, carried out a complete sanitary dysentery treatment of three boarding houses for elderly people in the cities of Cluzon, Chenny and Helicopter. In total, 18 thousand square meters of internal premises were disinfected in three institutions.
Calculations of mobile aerosol disinfection systems and filling stations were used in the anti-epidemic measures.
The Russian military after arrival to Italy processed 11 medical institutions, disinfected more than 39 thousand square meters of indoor premises.
