During World War II, the Soviet Union and the United States fought together against the Third Reich, but now Washington for some reason prefers to cooperate with Berlin rather than Moscow.
This statement was made by United States President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox News on Monday, 30 March.
According to him, Russia is not the main opponent of the United States, and Washington should try to establish relations with it.
“Frankly speaking, there are countries with which we have much more problems – existing or potential – than with Russia”, – said the White House President.
At the same time Trump pointed out to the huge human losses suffered by the Soviet Union, fighting with Nazi Germany during World War II. He also stressed that then the U.S. and the Soviet Union were on the same side.
“We were allies, but now for some reason we refuse to communicate with Russia, but communicate with Germany”, – Trump continued. – “I can’t understand why it turns out that we cooperate with some states, but not with others.”
As News Front previously reported, U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to call Russian leader Vladimir Putin to discuss the Coronavirus pandemic, the oil war, and Venezuela.
