Source in the Russian Foreign Ministry assessed the US accusations against China on coronavirus

The accusatory tone of statements by the US representatives to China regarding the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19 is puzzling in Russia. This was stated by a source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

According to him, to unequivocally answer the question about the source of the virus, a lot of scientific work needs to be done.

“Especially if the virus arose in the environment as a result of natural mutations. This is probably not possible in one place, so it’s hardly appropriate to blame any country”, – the source said.

He noted that in a globalized world with close transport links between most countries, the transfer of infection from one point to another is a matter of several hours.

“So the accusatory tone of the comments addressed to China, sounding now from Washington, is frankly perplexing”, – the source said.

He also added that Moscow does not have data on the “American track” in the occurrence of COVID-19.

He added that the United States would be nice to clarify the purpose of its laboratories, “stuck at the side of Russia and China”. instead of “organizing propaganda games around the coronavirus”.

“Now the main thing is to cope with it faster, and this can only be done by the joint efforts of all mankind”, – the source concluded.

On March 27, US President Donald Trump held telephone conversations with Chinese President Xi Jinping about the coronavirus.
