U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday after a telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping said that Washington and Beijing are cooperating in the fight against the new type of coronavirus.
“Just concluded a good conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping. We discussed the coronavirus in detail, and its rapid spread across the planet. China has made great progress in understanding the virus. We are working closely together”, – the White House chapter wrote on Twitter.
According to Johns Hopkins University, which conducts calculations based on data from federal and local authorities, the U.S. recorded more than 85 thousand cases of infection with the new coronavirus – more than in any other country. Over 1,200 people have died.
The outbreak of the disease caused by the new coronavirus was recorded in late 2019 in Central China, later spread to more than 150 countries and was recognized by the World Health Organization as a pandemic. According to the latest data, more than 457,000 people worldwide were infected and more than 21,000 deaths were recorded. Russia has 840 cases of infection, 38 people have been cured and discharged from hospitals, and two have died.
