The United Nations has pointed to punitive aggression – civilian casualties in Donbas have increased

As a result of the aggression of the Ukrainian occupying forces in Donbass, the number of civilian casualties has sharply increased.

The press service of the UN human rights monitoring mission in Ukraine reported on Thursday, March 26.

Representatives of the international organization drew attention to the fact that during the period from 1 to 22 March one civilian died in Donbass, 15 were injured and several more cases are awaiting confirmation.

“Although March has not yet ended, its rate of losses among civilians was the highest since September 2019”, –  it was reported.

In this regard, the mission urges the Kiev militants to join the global silence regime, which was previously proposed by the UN Secretary-General.

“This appeal becomes only more relevant against the background of the recorded increase in the number of deaths and injuries among the civilian population”,  the UN representatives stressed.
