German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed the situation around the coronavirus pandemic in the world by phone on Wednesday, according to the press service of the German Cabinet of Ministers.
“Chancellor Angela Merkel today held a telephone conversation with President Xi Jinping in order to exchange views with him on the current international challenge related to the pandemic COVID-19”, – the report says.
Both leaders “were united in the fact that the current crisis situation can be solved only through close international cooperation”, the Cabinet of Ministers said. Germany and China will remain in close contact following the conversation between the leaders. The sides also discussed bilateral relations.
