The US oil industry has never experienced the difficulties it faced in the context of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
This is stated in a letter from a group of American senators, which was published on the official website of the head of the U.S. Congress Committee on Energy and Natural Resources Lisa Murkowski.
According to the text of the document, lawmakers decided to blame US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross on the fate of American oil production. So, the official was instructed to conduct an investigation into the oil war, which should be directed against Russia and Saudi Arabia.
“Chaos reigns in the global oil market. Most of this is due to the recent actions of Saudi Arabia and Russia, which flooded the market with unprecedented volumes of raw materials. Such manipulations in the market led to economic shocks and caused great damage to the energy sector of the United States, ” the letter said.
US senators lamented that the pandemic of the coronavirus infection COVID-19 had already hit the global economy.
“What Russia and Saudi Arabia are doing has only added unprecedented problems to American oil producers and thousands of employees,” lawmakers said.
As News Front previously reported, Washington is also considering the possibility of introducing anti-Russian sanctions against the backdrop of the oil war. Thus, the US administration expects to “stabilize oil prices.”
