Trump: the U.S. emergency economic package does not include assistance to other countries

However, the U.S. Government does not rule out any subsequent economic assistance to some countries affected by the current pandemic.

The emergency stimulus package for the American economy to deal with the outbreak of the new coronavirus does not provide for assistance to other States. However, the U.S. government does not rule out any subsequent economic assistance to some countries affected by the current pandemic. This was stated by US President Donald Trump at a briefing for journalists at the White House on Sunday.

“No, there is no [such] thing in the bill on economic incentives”, –  the American leader said. He was asked to clarify whether the package of emergency measures to support the national economy, which is being developed jointly by the U.S. administration and Congress, will include provisions for providing financial assistance to other countries.

Trump argued that the U.S. is already providing massive economic assistance to other countries.

“We provide billions and billions of dollars”, –  said the head of the U.S. administration. And, in his opinion, such assistance is often provided to those countries with which the U.S. does not maintain deep or extensive cooperation relations.

“We give a lot <…>, and it’s likely to end up doing something economically [to mitigate the impact of coronavirus] on other countries”, –  Trump added.
