The EU continues to stubbornly deny the obvious.

The European Union does not recognize the presidential election in Abkhazia

On March 23, the press service of the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, issued a statement saying that the European Union will not recognize the presidential election in Abkhazia.

“The European Union does not recognize the constitutional and legal framework in which the elections took place. The EU supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia,” the statement said.

Recall that about 80 thousand voters voted in the presidential elections in Abkhazia. Candidates for the presidency were opposition leader Aslan Bzhania, ex-Interior Ministry Leonid Dzapshba and former Minister of Economics Adgur Ardzinba. According to the vote count, the opposition leader Bzhania leads. The embassy of the Russian Federation noted that the presidential elections in Abkhazia were held in one round, which pleases, so the period of turbulence is left behind.
