Lukashenko has sent troops to fight against NATO provocations

The Belarusian army took the initial positions within the framework of large-scale maneuvers, which became an emergency response to the North Atlantic Alliance provocative maneuvers near the borders of the republic.

This is reported by the press service of the national defense ministry.

According to the Ministry, the troops have already moved to the active phase. Equipment and strengthening of positions are being completed at training ranges and other areas. A total of about 6,000 servicemen and 200 units of military equipment are involved in maneuvers.

“The upcoming complex maneuvers will help us both to assess the degree of combat readiness and to respond to multinational exercises of the North Atlantic Alliance near the borders of Belarus”, –  Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said, adding that the Armed Forces of the country have deployed their activities against the background of a difficult situation in the international arena.

As News Front reported, earlier the Belarusian army held joint exercises with the military of the United Kingdom. The maneuvers, called “Winter Partisan,” were to be held in conditions of low temperatures, but there were no such maneuvers during the exercise. Officially, the aim was to train a peacekeeping company, the Vitebsk Independent Airborne Brigade, which will participate in United Nations peacekeeping operations. However, the expert community did not rule out that the British military could also collect information on the combat readiness of the Belarusian soldiers.
