In Syria, a hundred Islamists were freed – they were asked not to debauch

Dozens of militants of the terrorist organization “Islamic State” gained freedom only by promising to return to peaceful life.

This is reported by a specialized telegram channel “Directorate 4”, referring to local information resources.

The authors of this dubious idea were militants from the pro-American armed group “Syrian Democratic Forces. They were the ones who controlled prisons with radical Islamists captured in the Arab republic.

According to the publication, tribal leaders of Hasaka, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor provinces vouched for militants of the Islamic state. In total, about a hundred people fell under amnesty. It is noteworthy that most of the released jihadists have not even served their full term of imprisonment.
Among the reasons for the decision to release the militants is the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19 in Syria.

The first case of coronavirus in Syria was reported the day before. According to the Ministry of Health, an infected young man arrived from abroad. Official Damascus has already stopped international flights and also postponed parliamentary elections.
