The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case against the “head of the Mejlis” Refat Chubarov for organizing the riots in 2014. This was reported in the press service of the IC of Russia.
“The investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol opened a criminal case against the 62-year-old head of the public association” Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people “Refat Chubarov, who is charged with organizing mass riots accompanied by violence (Part 1 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation),” the message says.
It is noted that evidence has been obtained of Chubarov’s involvement in the organization of the riots.
