This aircraft was already the tenth in a row that Russia sent to Italy, where the COVID-19 epidemic is raging. The department notes that on board there are special equipment, equipment and military specialists.

“The tenth IL-76 aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces flew from the Chkalovsky airfield to the Italian Republic with Russian military personnel and equipment on board,” the Ministry of Defense reports.

As News Front previously reported, Italy managed to become a world leader in the number of deaths due to coronavirus. According to the Italian Civil Protection Service, as of March 22, about 60 thousand people were affected by coronavirus in the republic. Almost 5.5 thousand people died. Moreover, in just one day, 651 deaths were recorded. Nevertheless, the republic did not wait for support from the partners in the European Union. Against this background, the Russian Ministry of Defense sent humanitarian aid, medical equipment, and even doctors to Italy.
