The latest information exchange system with US ships and planes is installed on the May missile defense destroyer.
The day before, the newest destroyer was transferred to the Japanese Navy, on which a system was installed that allows you to instantly receive data on enemy missiles and aircraft, even if they are not yet visible to the ship’s radars.
“This information exchange system actually includes the May destroyer in the US missile defense structure in the Far East. It significantly increases the ability to intercept Chinese cruise missiles and DPRK ballistic missiles, ”the press service of the Japanese Navy said.
So far, only Maya is equipped with such a system. She will receive a missile destroyer “Haguro”, which is planned to be transferred to the Japanese Navy in March next year. Then, 13 E-2D early detection aircraft, which Japan intends to purchase in the USA, will be equipped with such a system.
