Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang said that Beijing seeks to expand the scope of international cooperation in the field of health care.
During a telephone conversation with the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leien, Prime Minister Li Keqiang promised to simplify the procedures for supplying the EU with medicines necessary to fight the new coronavirus epidemic. This was announced on Thursday by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
“In this situation, we are determined to join efforts with the European Union, to support you in the fight against coronavirus, to create favorable conditions for the supply of medicines to Europe through commercial channels”, – the Chinese Foreign Ministry website quoted the head of the Chinese government as saying.
Li Keqiang noted that Beijing seeks to expand the scope of international cooperation in the sphere of healthcare.
“I hope that the European side will pay close attention to creating conditions necessary to ensure the safety of life of Chinese citizens, including students who are in the EU”, – he stressed.
The Chinese prime minister specified that China intends to step up cooperation with the European countries in the economic field, to further consolidate the investment contacts. He voiced confidence that China’s bilateral relations with the European Union will be further strengthened in the joint fight against pneumonia.
