Part of Gorlovka was left without light because of the shelling, the DPR said

Part of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic Horlivka was left without light as a result of shelling by Ukrainian law enforcers, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Ukraine reported on Wednesday.

“Armed forces of Ukraine subjected Gorlovka to massive firing at night, two high-voltage power lines were damaged and several city districts were disconnected”, –  the press service of the Donetsk Ministry of Energy said.

The department specified that about a thousand subscribers were left without light. Electric power supply is promised to be restored as soon as possible, “if the combat situation allows”.

DPR-controlled Gorlovka is located at the line of contact, 40 kilometres north of Donetsk, and is regularly shelled. About 250 thousand people lived in the city before the conflict started. There is an engineering plant and chemical plant “Stirol” in Gorlovka, which stopped working with the beginning of hostilities in Donbass.
