Cao Wei says no second wave of COVID-19 in China

The second wave of the spread of coronavirus pneumonia COVID-19 in China is not expected.

This forecast was made by Cao Wei, deputy director of the infectious ward at the Beijing Sehe Hospital.

“The epidemic in China is coming to the end. We need another month to confirm this conclusively. But I personally think that there is no need to worry about the second wave of the spread of the infection, given the unprecedented sanitary measures taken in the country”, – the virologist said.

On March 12, the Chinese authorities officially announced: the peak of the COVID-19 epidemic in the country has been passed. By March 16, in 12 administrative units of the PRC there was not a single patient with coronavirus pneumonia COVID-19. Earlier, China’s chief pulmonologist Zhong Nanshan predicted that China would completely overcome the spread of coronavirus by the end of April.
