Russia has decided to close the border with Belarus to move people in connection with the spread of coronavirus, RIA Novosti.
The corresponding statement was made by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
He reported on Russia’s consistent decisions to close the borders.
“First of all, we did it with China and other Asian countries, which were the first to face this threat. We have restricted the air traffic with the EU countries, when the virus started to spread there as well, we have suspended the entry of foreigners across the border with Poland, Norway and we have cancelled the railway communication with Latvia, Moldova and Ukraine”, – Mishustin said during an operative meeting with the deputy prime ministers on Monday.
“We also decided to close the border with Belarus for the movement of people and took a number of other proactive steps”, – he added.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared March 11 an outbreak of the new coronavirus COVID-19 a pandemic.
