DPR reported 14 truce violations by security forces in one day

Ukrainian security forces violated the ceasefire in Donbas 14 times a day, a representative of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic told journalists at the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCC).

On 15 March, DPR representatives at JCCС declared 34 ceasefire violations.

“Over the past 24 hours, the total number of violations on the part of the Ukrainian armed forces was 14 times”, – said a representative of the ministry.

The representative office of the DPR in the JCCC added that 72 mines and shells of 82, 120 and 122 millimeters caliber were fired on the territory of the republic. Small arms and grenade launchers were also used in the firing. There were 11 settlements within the firing zone.
In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-declared LPR and DPR, which declared independence after the state revolution in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, about 13,000 people fell victim to the conflict.
The issue of settling the situation in Donbass is discussed, in particular, during meetings of the contact group in Minsk, which has already adopted three documents regulating steps to de-escalate the conflict since September 2014. However, even after the ceasefire agreements between the parties to the conflict, shootings continue.
