Some 440 migrants were brought to mainland Greece over the weekend. They are now accommodated in reception centres.
Approximately 440 migrants who were detained on board a ship in the port of Mitylini in Lesbos were taken to mainland Greece. The people are now in a closed camp for migrants north of Athens.
This was reported by the Greek news agency ANA-MPA on Sunday, citing the Ministry of Migration of Greece.
In addition, by next Saturday, all those migrants who have illegally entered Greece since the opening of the borders on March 1 should be delivered from the Greek islands to the closed facilities on the mainland.
Recall then that the Greek government suspended the right of asylum for a month and announced that all newly arrived migrants will go to closed camps and must be sent to their countries of origin.
