Media: Turkish troops shelled Tell Tamer area in Hasek province

Artillery of the Turkish army and the formation of the Syrian armed opposition on Saturday fired on the outskirts of Tell Tamer in the north of Hasek province, Sky News Arabia reported.

According to him, these areas are protected by units of the Syrian army, which were introduced to the north of Hasek in October 2019.

According to the channel, the Syrian government troops have not yet fired back at Turkish positions in the border area.

Tell Tamer is populated mainly by Assyrian Christians. The offensive of the armed opposition with the support of Turkish troops last fall led to the displacement of a large number of its inhabitants in the provincial center of Hasek, located 40 km.

The situation in the north of Hasek was aggravated after March 12, when Kurdish fighters from the “Self-Defense Forces” made an armed attack near the city of Ras al-Ain on the Syrian-Turkish border. As a result, a Turkish soldier and five oppositionists died.
