State Duma calls on Kiev to implement the Minsk Agreements

State Duma deputy from Sevastopol Dmitry Belik commented on the statement made by the Head of the office of President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky Andriy Yermak that disastrous consequences await Kiev in case of unilateral withdrawal from the Minsk agreements.

According to Belik, the Minsk agreements are the “only legal basis” for resolving the conflict in the Donbass.

“Despite the frank sabotage on the part of the team of ex-president Poroshenko, Minsk allowed for a certain time to reduce the degree of tension in the east of Ukraine”, – the deputy explained.

In his opinion, statements about the unilateral withdrawal from the Minsk agreements are “ridiculous and childish excuses”.

“If you remove all this verbal husk and ask Mr. Zelensky one simple question: “How else can the world return to the east of Ukraine?”, then everything immediately falls into place. We need to stop engaging in verbal balancing, which Petro Poroshenko loved so much, and finally begin to implement the points of the Minsk agreements”, – the parliamentarian concluded.

Earlier, Ermak announced the catastrophic consequences in the event of a unilateral withdrawal of Ukraine from the Minsk agreements.

He recalled that during the Norman summit in Paris, Zelensky announced the impossibility for Kiev to “automatically implement” the Minsk agreements, which imply the holding of elections in the Donbass until Ukraine gained control of the border.
