In safe solitude. The new head of Greece will take the oath without guests

The ceremony of swearing in of the new Greek president Ekaterina Sakelaropoulos will be held without invited guests and with strict preventive measures, it was reported with reference to the Proto Topic publication.


The ceremony should begin on Friday, March 13, at 11 am. It is expected that the event will be attended by less than 170 people instead of approximately 1000 people who have attended similar ceremonies in the past.

The Greek government will be represented by a prime minister and several ministers, while parliamentary parties will be represented by leaders and factional representatives in the legislature.

In addition, the number of officials from the judiciary, military and diplomatic corps will be limited.

Earlier it was reported that it was the first time in Greece that a woman – Ekaterina Sakelaropoula, the Chairperson of the State Council, was elected as the President. Over 200 out of 300 deputies voted for her candidacy.
