EU and UK talks on future partnership canceled due to COVID-19

Negotiations between the EU and the UK on a future partnership have been canceled due to the situation with the coronavirus infection COVID-19.

“Given the recent events with COVID-19, the EU and UK negotiators today decided not to hold a round of talks next week in London in the originally planned format”, – the European Commission said in a statement.

It is noted that alternatives are being considered, such as video conferencing.

Earlier, the US President Donald Trump said that he could both extend or cancel ahead of schedule the 30-day ban on entry into the country from Europe due to the spread of coronavirus.
