The meetings of the “Norman Four” should first of all be productive, but the summit in April will not bring results.
This publication “European Truth” was told by a source in the German Federal Government, which works on Ukrainian foreign policy.
“The summit will not take place in April for sure”, – the source said. – “Maybe it will take place in May, or maybe later.”
According to him, the negotiations in the Norman format should have a concrete result, but today we do not have to talk about the prospect of a productive April meeting. The source stresses that the result is more important here, and if it is not expected, then there is no sense in convening a summit.
“Presidents should go to negotiations with specific agreements”, – stated the representative of the German government.
As previously reported by News Front, the previous summit in the Norman format at the highest level was held in Paris on December 9 last year. The talks lasted more than 8 hours. Vladimir Putin, Emmanuelle Macron, Angela Merkel and Vladimir Zelenski stated the need to continue following the Minsk agreements as part of the conflict settlement. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian administration continues to insist that the agreements should be rewritten. In particular, Kiev wants to get control over the border between the republics and Russia before elections. In fact, it is about isolating the LDPR.
