The US Senate is talking about ending support for Kosovo

The US administration will reconsider the issue of military presence on the territory of the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo”, if Pristina does not refuse one hundred percent duties on Serbian goods.

This statement was made by Republican Senator David Purdue.

According to him, the American armed forces for decades “helped to maintain peace between Kosovo and Serbia”.

“Now that historical progress is evident, Kosovo must make its contribution and abolish all duties levied on Serbia. If Kosovo is not fully committed to peace, then the United States should reconsider its presence there”, – said a senator from the state of Georgia.

As News Front reported, Pristina imposed 100 percent duties on Serbian goods in the fall of 2018. This decision entailed the freezing of the dialogue with Belgrade on a Kosovo settlement. Recently, the United States has been insisting on resuming negotiations. As a result, Washington has repeatedly pointed out that duties must be abolished, but the Kosovo elites ignored the demands of Western patrons.

Ultimately, the States put forward a stringent ultimatum to the Kosovo separatists, according to which the American armed forces will leave the territory of the self-proclaimed “republic” if they do not change their minds.

In addition, quasi-state can wait for international isolation, as the head of the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo” Hashim Tachi spoke of as part of his visit to Munich. According to him, attempts to act without coordination with the “partners” will lead to the fact that Kosovo will deprive of chances for economic development or political achievements.
