Flags raised in honor of International Women’s Day were removed from two town halls of British cities so as not to “offend the feelings of transgender people.”
On the flags raised in honor of the international holiday the slogan was written: “A woman is a noun, an adult female person”, corresponding to how this concept is written in the dictionary. Transgender people considered this a “hostile transphobic secret message.”
“I welcome the advice of Sefton! The flag you raise is a hostile transphobic secret message. This is a symbol and brand of one of the most ardent and visible opponents of transgender people in the UK and the leader of a group of transphobes who incite hatred, ” wrote one of the vigilant LGBT activists on a social network.
Earlier, in 2018, the same slogan was used by the feminist Kelly-Jay Kin-Minshull. She placed a banner with this message in Liverpool, for which she was accused of hostile attitude towards trans women.
In the end, the flags were simply removed. What British women can probably be congratulated with.
