The situation in the area of the Syrian town of Saraqib is calm and the parties are observing the silence that began at midnight.
“There was no fighting at night. The Syrian army fully respects the ceasefire”, – a military field source stated.
An hour before the Russian-Turkish agreements came into force, the terrorists arranged intensive artillery fire. Militants attacked both the M5 highway (Damascus – Aleppo) and the bypass road. At least five cars were destroyed as a result.
On Thursday, while negotiations continued in Moscow, terrorists attempted a massive attack in the Saraqib area. The main blow came to the settlement of Dadih, located near M5. They tried to cut off a strategically important highway and move towards the city. Syrian Government forces, backed by heavy artillery fire, repulsed all attacks and forced the militants to retreat deep into their captured territories.
