In Brussels, the prospects of cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and NATO were discussed.
In Brussels, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova Aureliu Cioca met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Joane. During the meeting, the priorities of the Moldova-NATO cooperation agenda were discussed, including the development of a new Individual Partnership Action Plan.
“The Moldovan Minister thanked for the experience and assistance provided by this organization to the Republic of Moldova for many years, and confirmed the interest of the Moldovan authorities in continuing the political dialogue and practical cooperation with the North Atlantic Alliance in areas of interest. In particular, the Moldovan authorities’s commitment to identifying priority areas for cooperation with NATO for 2020-2022 under the new Individual Partnership Action Plan was emphasized”, – sources in Brussels said.
The NATO representative confirmed the alliance’s support for partnership with the Republic of Moldova, and also confirmed the alliance’s readiness to continue supporting reform and modernization processes in the Republic of Moldova, based on requests from the Moldovan authorities.
