Syrian government troops have regained control of the city of Saraqib in Idlib province, Al-Masdar News reported citing a military source.
He said government troops are now combing the city and trying to secure it before the militants launch a counteroffensive.
The situation in Idlib has been exacerbated by terrorists from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham launched a large-scale attack on Syrian army positions on 27 February. Government forces returned fire. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, together with the guerrillas, the Turkish military, which should not have been there, also fell under it.
As a result of the incident 36 Turkish soldiers were killed and more than 30 people were wounded. At the same time, the Russian side took measures for a complete ceasefire from the Syrian side and ensured the evacuation of the dead and wounded to Turkish territory.
