Germany: Cargo ships with U.S. Defender-Europe 2020 military manoeuvring equipment arrive at the port of Bremerhaven

The first cargo ship “Endurance” with American military equipment was moored in Bremerhaven on Friday. The next delivery of military equipment arrived with the cargo ship “Green Bay” on Monday. A third cargo ship with military supplies is also at the mooring stage.

The “Green Lake” cargo ship is due to arrive in Bremerhaven this week. All these movements are due to the fact that the U.S. is conducting major military exercises “to protect Europe” and is moving an entire unit to Europe.

Approximately 20,000 U.S. soldiers who will go to Defender-Europe 2020 and their equipment, along with about 9,000 U.S. soldiers, are already in Germany. With an additional 8,000 soldiers from various units, the entire division will then be transferred to Eastern Europe. Germany acts as a logistics center for the main maneuver.

The maneuver represents the largest transfer of troops from the USA to Europe in the last 25 years.
