Kiev says that Crimea is Ukraine, but has long fenced itself off from it. It will be the same with LDPR.
This was told by the ex-head of the investigation department of the Security Service of Ukraine, Major General Vasyl Vovk on the air of the Black Sea Broadcasting Company.
According to him, the Kiev leadership applies double standards in relation to the Crimea and the Donbass. So, between the peninsula and Ukraine, a full-fledged state border has already been established, which has an important positive function.
“I wonder: why do we get in there? So far the answer is one: there are our territories. But how would I solve the problem? Just as we decided with the Crimea. We continue to say that Crimea is Ukrainian, but we made a border there. The state border, in fact. Nobody dies there. It happens that you wait for someone to be killed, ” says Vovk.
However, the expert continues, on the border between Ukraine and Crimea they can only be delayed, and at the same time, trade continues, etc.
“But they say, why, Tsar’s face, you squander Ukrainian lands? So why did we give Crimea? Do then in the same scenario. Why should we climb? Of course, our territory, but in this case it is necessary to declare war on Russia, but this cannot be done, ” the Ukrainian general explains.
In this regard, he proposes to establish the same border between Ukraine and the national republics of Donbass as between Ukraine and the Crimea. He explains his position by the fact that this option is almost inevitable.
“We will come to this anyway,” emphasizes Vovk. – We need to realize that Putin, if he gives the Donbass to Ukraine, then formally, or not at all, as a Russian. And what, we will accept it as Russian and will not even put our border guards there? ”
He appreciated the position of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who insists that, contrary to the Minsk Agreement, gain control of the border between the LPR, the DPR and Russia before the elections in the Donbas. At the same time, Vovk admitted that neither the republic nor Russia would go for it. Kiev does not even have a long-term prospect for the return of the Donbass, he states.
“Then let’s at least stop killing. We will arrange the border, as in the case of the Crimea. Then there will be no dead or disabled, ”concluded Vovk.
As News Front previously reported, political analyst Andrei Suzdaltsev said that for the Ukrainian ruling elites, the main goal is the physical surrender of Donbass and Russia. At the same time, Kiev refuses to realize the fact that Ukraine lost its war back in 2015.
